Edyta Cegielska is an abstract painter based in Warsaw.
Her work focuses on circular forms as a structured system of color, rhythm, and repetition. Through layered painting and subtle tonal transitions, she explores the relationship between movement and control within a closed form.
The circle — without beginning or end — functions as a central element in her practice, creating compositions that balance tension, continuity, and visual rhythm.
Statement
I am interested in its rhythm and the tension that emerges within a confined space.
I work through repetition of gesture and the gradual building of layers, where subtle shifts, differences, and color relationships become essential.
The painting develops as a process, without a clearly defined beginning or end.
It is important to me that the paintings remain open and do not impose a single interpretation, allowing for individual perception. For this reason, the works are identified by numbers (LP-XXX). Occasionally, additional names appear as personal associations, without intending to impose a fixed reading of the work.
